17th Youth Summit as part of the Regional Weimar Triangle: Apply now for the International Youth Encounter in Northern France

From Propaganda 1918 to Fake News 2018

In 1918 it was placards, caricatures, and flyers – today it is Social Bots and Algorithms: Propaganda, the spreading of manipulative information was already current 100 years ago, just in a different form. For the 17th youth summit as part of the Regional Weimar Triangle this year in Northern France, the exciting topic „Fake News – then and now“ is taken up together with the question: How can I become a MÜNDIG European citizen?

During the week of 15th to 21st of July, 15 youths from North Rhine-Westphalia will meet 15 of their peers from each Poland and France. Analysis of historical and current media, discussions, and excursions to the attractive surrounding of Lille in Northern France form the programme.

Youths and young adults between the ages of 17 and 23 years can still apply until the 31st of May 2018 with a motivational letter. The International Association for Education and Exchange e.V. in Dortmund organises the participation of the German youths on behalf of the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia. Participation is free of charge, except travel to Dortmund, the origin of the trip. Those interested are invited to send their application to the postal address IBB e.V. , Bornstraße 66, 44145 Dortmund or via emal to info@ibb-d.de.
