Exploring the East on motorcycle in Western Pomerania and on Rügen

Smelling the sea breeze, riding motorcycles, and seeing the development of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania in furthering the energy transition: The International Association for Education and Exchange has, once again, selected attractive routes and interesting conversation partners for the motorcycle tour “Western Pomerania and Rügen” from the 3rd to 9th of July 2016.

From the start in Wolgast, participants ride to Peenemünde. The former military base has become a major tourist attraction. Biomass as an energy source is the topic of the visit to the Bio Energy Park Klarsee in Penkun; the dismantling of the nuclear power plant Lubmin can be observed from the tour route. The participants will hear aviation stories at the Otto-Lilienthal-Museum and the topic of both Nazi and socialist history will be raised with the example of the Prora complex. The group will talk with the head of building authority of the municipality of Binz about how to deal with this inheritance.

Besides the comprehensive programme of visits the participants will have ample time to experience the region on two wheels. The excursion is recognised for purposes of educational leave in North Rhine-Westphalia and Hesse. Participation costs 750 Euro, including accommodation and programme. There are still some free spaces left.

Participants will travel with their own motorcycle to Wolgast. Further information and application under telephone 0231-952096-0 or here on this website.
