Generation Europe – The Academy

Deutsch – For English, see below

We are excited to announce that „Generation Europe – The Academy“ is starting today! Over the next years, we will play our part in bringing youngsters closer together all over Europe. With our network, we want to make the concerns and ideas of young people valued and heard in the political debate while connecting youth workers all over the continent. In order to do so, our project has a strong commitment to qualify youngsters and youth workers and empower them to lobby for our shared values.

„Generation Europe – The Academy“ is an international network of youth work institutions for furthering an active European civil society. It motivates participants towards common political action and creates the necessary foundations. This collaboration is made possible, by a funding programme by the International Association for Education and Exchange e.V. of the same name. We would like to thank all our funders, especially Stiftung Mercator and ERASMUS+, for giving us the chance to continue the work of the previous projects and give it a new spin.

45 youth work institutions from 15 European countries are taking part. The concept: In each case, youths from three countries continually collaborate over a duration of three years in order to get politically involved. We identify problems at the locations, meet in international encounters, and support one another in local projects in order to then take on these problems. We network on a digital liquid-democracy platform and discuss which problematics appear not just on the national level, but can be considered on the European level as well. For this, we are also seeking dialogue with representatives of political institutions on all levels.

We are starting with our new Ambassador Network. With young people from 15 different European countries we will work together for one week, preparing ourselves and the network for the next years. We will exchange ideas and get to know each other, set goals, work on important topics for young people in Europe and have a lot of fun.
