For two decades, Elke Wegener coordinated, organised and managed the work of IBB e.V. as Managing Director. Now she is taking her well-deserved retirement: on 1 December, Jocelyne Jakob, a familiar face, took over the management of the association.
The generational change is well prepared. As the previous deputy managing director and the person responsible for the historical-political education programmes, Jocelyne Jakob was already closely involved in the management and organisation of IBB e.V., most recently on an equal footing. While there is no major upheaval in the operational business, the departure of Elke Wegener is nevertheless a turning point.
With her tireless work and energy, she has significantly shaped and developed the profile of IBB e.V. as an institutionally and politically independent non-profit organisation for democracy and participation. It is hard to overestimate her contribution to the fact that IBB is very well positioned for the future despite the sometimes challenging social conditions. We look forward to continuing this work in order to continue networking civil society actors and organising education and encounters across all borders.
The Board and the entire IBB e.V. team say: Ciao Elke, Chapeau and many, many thanks for everything!
